Mayo Clinic
Lainey Bukowiec is a third-year orthopedic surgery resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Originally from Nutley, New Jersey, she completed her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University before earning her medical degree at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.
As a resident, Lainey is gaining experience in a wide range of orthopedic procedures and is focused on developing her surgical skills. She is also pursuing a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, having completed the first year of the two-year program. She is interested in how AI can be applied to the field of orthopedics, particularly in areas such as vision-based AI and surgical simulation. Lainey is working to balance the demands of residency with her studies and is exploring the ways technology can enhance the practice of Orthopedic Surgery in the future.
