Head of Research, Information and Support
Bone Cancer Research Trust, United Kingdom
After gaining my PhD in breast cancer research at Cardiff University and a short period as a post-doctoral researcher in Newcastle University, I moved away from academic research and became involved with the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia biobank as it transitioned from a virtual to a physical repository. From here, after gaining expertise in the legislation and practicalities of sample collection, I moved to the charity sector to focus on bone sarcoma sample collection and use in research. I have since spent almost 10 years with the Bone Cancer Research Trust, as we have moved from a small national funder to an international funder and key stakeholder in bone cancer research.
