CME/CE Symposium: A Joint Effort to Improve Care in Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumors: Applying a Collaborative Approach When Integrating Targeted Therapies in Practice

Tenosynovial giant cell tumors (TGCT) are rare, benign lesions that affect the synovial lining of the affected joint, bursae, and tendon sheaths and are generally characterized as locally aggressive and often recurring tumors. Although the mainstay of treatment for TGCT is surgery, some tumors may not be amenable to surgery without resulting in significant morbidity, while other tumors may recur and therefore require multidisciplinary care when evaluating next steps for clinical management. Recently, several developments in this space have led to validated and emerging targeted approaches to treat symptomatic TGCT that are not amenable to improvement with surgery.
