Ran Wei, MD, is an associate professor of treatment at the Musculoskeletal Tumor Center of Peking University People's Hospital, Beijing, China. He has also worked as a visiting scientist in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of University of California, Los Angeles, CA, USA. His major is surgical treatment for musculoskeletal tumors and he is fully skilled in surgical treatment for tumors located on the spine and pelvic ring, limb-salvaging treatment for tumors on extremities, using 3D-printed endoprosthesis for reconstruction of the complex bone defect after tumor resection, comprehensive treatment for bone metastasis.
His research focuses on clinical and basic research in the area of musculoskeletal tumors. He has been supported by several national and provincial funds. Till now, Dr. Wei has authored 46 peer-reviewed articles published in Advanced Materials, Bone & Joint Journal, European Spine Journal, Small, etc.. With his research achievements, he received several awards, including the first award of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, the Excellent Young Physician Award of Peking University, etc.
