Dr. Mehtsun is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology at UC San Diego and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Policy at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health. Her clinical practice specializes in gastric cancer and sarcoma. Dr. Mehtsun’s research focuses on the elucidating the molecular, epidemiologic, and socioeconomic factors contributing to poor outcomes in cancer patients, particularly in vulnerable populations. She aims to inform policy interventions that enhance the quality of cancer care.
