Dr. Scott Schuetze is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology and Co-director of the Connective Tissue Oncology Clinical Research Team in the Rogel Cancer Center. He received his Doctorate of Medicine and Doctorate of Philosophy in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Oregon Heath and Sciences University. He completed residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University and Fellowship in Medical Oncology at University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Washington in 2001 and joined the University of Michigan as Assistant Professor in 2004. His medical practice is focused on care of patients with connective tissue tumors including sarcomas. He is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Soft Tissue Sarcoma Treatment Guidelines Committee and has over 20 years of experience in the oversight and conduct of translational and therapeutic trials in patients with bone and soft tissue sarcomas. He has been Principal Investigator of NCTN and ETCTN supported clinical trials and was awarded an ASCO Advanced Clinical Research Award in Sarcoma in 2008 and an NIH Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award in 2012. He is Co-Principal Investigator of a SPORE in Sarcoma awarded in September 2022.
