PhD student
Laboratory of Experimental Oncology, KU Leuven, Belgium
A senior Bachelor internship at the Children's Cancer Institute in Sydney, Australia, in the lab of Paul Ekert (Translational Tumour Biology), motivated me to pursue a Master's degree in biomedical sciences. After graduating for my Bachelor Biomedical Sciences from Zuyd Univeristy of Applied Sciences, Heerlen, I followed a Master at Maastricht University to focus on pathophysiology and inflammation. During the second year of my Master, I worked on my thesis at the Princess Máxima Centre for paediatric oncology, in the lab of Ronald Stam (Infant Leukaemia) (September 2021 - July 2022).
Having finished my Master's degree, I was fortunate enough to find a PhD position at the Laboratory of Experimental Oncology (Prof. Patrick Schöffski, and Prof. Agnieszka Wozniak), where I am currently investigating novel anti-cancer drugs in PDX models of soft-tissue sarcoma.
