Surgical Oncologist

Dr. Mark Fairweather is a surgical oncologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana Farber Cancer Institute and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He completed a two-year fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He serves as the program director for the Mass General Brigham/Dana Farber Cancer Institute Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and is an associate program director for the General Surgery Residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Fairweather's clinical and academic practice focuses on the treatment of patients with complex gastrointestinal cancers and soft-tissue sarcomas. He is an active member of the Transatlantic Australiasian Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group and has co-authored multiple landmark publications regarding the surgical outcomes of patients with retroperitoneal sarcomas.
