I graduated in 1986 with a B.S. in mechanical enginnering from the university Of Illinois, and MD from Universtiy of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1990, residency at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania in 1993 and Hematology/Oncology Fellwoship at Universtiy of Chicago 1996 . I am a medical oncologist practicing since 1996 in my subspecialties of head and neck cancer, bone and soft tissue sarcoma, and melanoma. My time is spent 50% clinical, 40% administrative and 10% research. My administrative duties including include my role as division head for 26 physicians and 12 nurse practitioners. I function as the Medical Director for the Endeavor Health Cancer Institute kellogg Cance Centers. My academic appointment is Clinical Professor of Medicine, Universtiy of Chicago Protzker School of Mediicne. I have continuously conducted clinical research since 1993. My focus has been within the field of head and neck cancer, sarcoma and melanoma. Most of my work has revolved around optimizing therapy for patients with local regionally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck mucosa, and bone and soft tissue sarcoma . I have attempted to extend my knowledge and research through education. I continuously teach students, medical residents, hematology oncology fellows, PA students, pharmacy residents and other learners.
I have continuously been the head neck cancer subject editor (as well as currently writing 6 of the over 30 sections that I edit) for UpToDate textbook. I have done this continuously since 1998
