Assistant Professor
CancerCare Manitoba, Canada
I am a pediatric hematologist/oncologist and clinician investigator at CancerCare Manitoba, Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute, and the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at the University of Manitoba, Canada. My clinical areas of expertise include solid tumors in pediatric, adolescents, and young adults (AYAs), especially sarcomas, and survivorship care. I am involved in investigator-initiated and corporative group research in pediatric and AYA oncology locally and nationally. As a young investigator with the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Soft Tissue Sarcoma (STS) Committee, I currently work on various projects focusing on children and adolescents with soft-tissue sarcomas. Another important aspect of my research is to improve symptom management, especially mental health and supportive care of AYAs with cancer to improve their overall outcomes, cancer experience, and quality of life during and after their cancer treatment by engaging and partnering with patients, using quantitative and qualitative approaches, and routinely collecting population-based administrative data.
