Pediatric oncologist

Bio – Adi Nitzan Luques
I hold an MD/PhD degree from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, specializing in neuropathic pain mechanisms. My passion for pain medicine and oncology led me to pursue an MD degree, and I completed my Pediatrics residency in 2019, followed by a Pediatric Hemato-Oncology fellowship with honors at Hadassah Medical Center, Israel, in 2022.
In July 2022, my family and I relocated, and I had the privilege of joining SickKids Hospital as a Clinical Associate (CA) within the division of Hemato-Oncology for the 2022-2023 period. Concurrently, I embarked on a research journey under the mentorship of Dr. Abha Gupta at CanSaRCC, UHN, focusing on the role of radiotherapy as a crucial component of local control for pediatric and young adults with rhabdomyosarcoma of the extremity.
Currently, I am honored to serve as an oncology clinical research fellow, jointly affiliated with SickKids Hospital and the University of Toronto. My work primarily involves the solid tumors clinic, centering on neuroblastoma modeling research under the co-supervision of Dr. Meredith Irwin and Dr. Madeline Hayes. This endeavor is supported by the Garron Family Cancer Centre (GFCC) and the Hold’em for Life Oncology scholarships.
Additionally, I have special interests in caring for adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer, long-term pediatric oncology care, and pediatric palliative care.
