Dr.
Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy, Italy
I was born in Vimercate on January 8, 1979, and graduated with full marks and honors with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in July 2005. My early years of training began as a student and then as a medical trainee at the Policlinico and Luigi Sacco hospitals in Milan. Since 2009, I have been working steadily at the National Cancer Institute's Department of Surgery, where I developed a particular interest in the study and treatment of adult soft tissue sarcoma. In November 2011, I earned my diploma in General Surgery with full marks and honors. Following this, I spent approximately six months as an observer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where I enhanced my knowledge of the clinical and surgical aspects of sarcomas.
After a brief tenure as a fellow at the Italian National Cancer Institute in Milan, I received a one-year surgical fellowship in October 2012 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK, where I worked with the Midland Abdominal and Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Unit. During this time, I refined my expertise in oncologic soft tissue sarcomas, with a particular focus on mesenchymal neoplasms in the retroperitoneum, GIST, and sacral chordoma. Concurrently, I attended the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, where I further developed my skills and knowledge in diagnosing and treating soft tissue sarcomas of the limbs and trunk wall.
Since December 1, 2013, I have been working with the Sarcoma Service at the National Cancer Institute of Milan. I am also the author and co-author of several scientific publications in both national and international journals.
Proud father of two wonderful children, Giovanni and Anna, sharing life's journey with Paola since 2010.
