Clinical Assistant Professor
NYU Langone Long Island
I have always been drawn to oncology, but over the past two years I have gained a special interest in bone sarcomas. My interest grew from frustration of the little progress made in the prognosis of patients with bone tumors over the past 30 years. More specifically, patients who present with metastatic bone tumors continue to have dismal outcomes. I realized that I had the desire to join the effort in trying to improve these patients’ outcomes. I have joined the young investigators program with the Children Oncology Group and through my work with them, I was able to take part of an analysis of patients with extrapulmonary metastatic osteosarcomas to gain more insight on their demographics and outcomes. I am thankful for the opportunity to present this work at the 2024 CTOS meeting.
As for my training, I have completed my medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed my pediatric residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. I completed my fellowship training in pediatric hematology and oncology at Westchester Medical Center. After working at NYU Long Island for four years, I am looking forward to my new position at Robert Wood Johnson in New Jersey, where I will be able to focus my oncology clinical work on sarcomas.
I am excited to be a new member of CTOS and I look forward to attending the 2024 meeting. I am also looking forward to my future involvement in CTOS and to the connections that will be formed through this platform. I would love to collaborate with other like-minded young investigators so please feel free to reach out.
