From 2005 to the present, I have developed my experience in clinical research participating as a principal investigator or co-researcher in multiple clinical trials (> 60) at Vall d'Hebrón University Hospital, focusing on phase II and III studies in sarcomas, genitourinary tumors, brain and primary unknown tumors, as well as in phase I studies.
Active member of the following national and international cooperative groups: European Society of medical oncology, Spanish Society of Medical Oncology, SOGUG, Germinal Group, GETHI (Spanish Group of Orphan and Infrequent tumors) and especially in GEIS (Spanish Research Group in Sarcomas)). I have been part of GEIS executive committee as Treasurer from 2010-2018 and as President since Oct/ 2018. In this sense, one of my main roles is to represent GEIS and allow its incorporation and active participation in a large number of European and World networks and consortiums dedicated to the treatment of sarcomas such as: EuroEwing (Ewing Sarcoma), Eurosarc (sarcomas of soft and bone parts), Eurojoss (synovial sarcoma), Chordoma Foundation (chordoma), WSN (World Sarcoma network), HiBisCus, FOSTER (osteosarcoma), SELNET (Sarcoma European latinAmerica Network).
I am the coordinator of the sarcoma unit at Vall d´Hebrón University Hospital, accredited as national Reference Center (CSUR) by the Health Ministery and also part of EURACAN (Network of Reference Centers for rare Cancers- Sarcoma-Domain).
I am the coordinator for the OECI accreditation at Vall d´Hebrón University Hospital. Vall d´Hebrón is the first Spanish center to be accredited as comprehensive cancer center by OECI.
I ´m the medical coordinator at VHIO for European projects/Joint Actions : CCI4EU, CRANE2, JANE2 with the objective to improve care and research in cancer and reduce inequalities among all EU countries.
