Matthew Campbell, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology and Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. His clinical interest is musculoskeletal tumors and early phase clinical trials. He is the lead physician for the UTSW/Children's Medical Center Musculoskeletal Tumor Program as well as the Developmental Therapeutics Program. His clinical research interest is in the use of immunotherapy for relapsed or refractory pediatric cancers. He serves as site PI for the upfront and early phase clinical trials for pediatric sarcomas. This has led to participation in the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation Sunshine Project, for which he is now an active contributor to study protocol development. Additionally, he is the PI of the investigator initiated, multi-site clinical trial testing the combination of immune checkpoint inhibition with conventional chemotherapy in children with advanced solid tumors (VITAS; NCT04796012). In support of this work he has received the UTSW SCCC Early-Stage Clinical Investigator Award and was recently accepted into the institutional KL2 program to support his development as a clinical researcher.
