For over 17 years, I have been actively involved in research and teaching at the Division of Clinical Oncology of the Medical University of Graz with great personal commitment. Since 2016, I am also serving as the Program Director for Soft Tissue Sarcomas, Bone Tumors, and GIST Tumors. Accordingly, my research focus lies in sarcomas. My academic career is characterized by comprehensive contributions to cancer research by authoring and co-authoring more than 100 scientific publications. Many of these publications originate from international collaborations with renowned sarcoma specialists. My involvement in the sarcoma landscape is further evidenced by active participation in national and international congresses through presentations, chairs, memberships in international program committees, organization of international congresses, fundraising for research projects and active support of patient advocacy groups such as SPAGN.
I am a member of the Austrian Society of Hematology and Oncology (OEGHO), the Austrian Society for Internal Medicine (OEGIM), the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS), the Eropean Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), a board member of the Austrian Musculo-Skeletal Oncology Society (AMSOS) and the European Musculo-Skeletal Oncology Society (EMSOS) and the current president of EMSOS.
