Sylvia Cruz graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2018 with a bachelor's in Biological Sciences, after completing two years at Pasadena City College. Prior to entering medical school, she worked as an organ procurement coordinator for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford and program assistant at the Cardiothoracic Surgical Skills Education Center at Stanford. She is now a second year medical student the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. She has an interest in surgical oncology and is a member of the Dr. Robert J. Canter laboratory, with a research focus on multi-species models for natural killer (NK) cell immunotherapy for sarcomas and other solid tumors.
