My undergraduate educations was at the University of Michigan. Medical schoool was State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, Class of 1974.
I interned in general surgery at the University of Michigan and did my residency inn orthopedics at the University of Pitsburgh. My fellowship in orthopedic oncology was with Dr. William Enneking at the University of Florida.
I spent the first ten years of professional life developing the ortho oncology program at the University of Pittsburgh. I then spent 16 years in private practice and finished my career back at Pitt on the full time faculty. In addition I was clinical faculty in orthopedics at West virginia University for 20 years.
In addition to writing the MusculoOncology Staging System with Drs. Enneking and Spanier, I have authored several articles and am currently helping to develope a transdermal endo/exo prosthesis for femoral amputees.
I am a past president of the Allegheny County Medical Society, and a current board member.
I head Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma, a 501c3 charity which funds local sarcoma researchers.
