In March 2017, I defended my PhD thesis on risk factors and potential preventive measures for anastomotic leakage after colorectal surgery. After that, I started my surgical training and my research focus switched towards more clinical issues. Currently, I work at the Netherlands Cancer Institute as a fellow in surgical oncology with a focus on soft tissue sarcoma.
