Claire Baniel, MD is a 5th year radiation oncology resident at Stanford in Palo Alto, California. Originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, she attended Michigan State University where she attained baccalaureate degrees in Chemistry and Human Biology prior to graduating from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2020. She completed her medicine internship at St Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, California, where during the ongoing covid pandemic she developed a passion for quality, safety, and patient advocacy. She has completed additional fellowship training in translational science (Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellowship, 2018-2019) and patient quality and safety (ACR E. Stephen Amis Fellowship, 2024). Her research interests include quality improvement and patient safety, process improvement, gender inequities, and lymphoma and thoracic malignancies.
