Surgical Oncologist

Laura Samà is a surgical oncologist at the Sarcoma, Melanoma, and Rare Tumors Surgery Unit at IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano, Milan, under the leadership of Professor Ferdinando Cananzi. Her clinical and surgical practice focuses on the treatment of retroperitoneal, limb, and trunk soft tissue sarcomas, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), and complex abdominal tumors requiring multivisceral resections.
During her residency, Dr. Samà was mentored by Doctor Vittorio Quagliuolo, gaining foundational experience and guidance in surgical oncology. She later expanded her expertise through specialized training at the Sarcoma Unit of the Curie Institute in Paris, under the direction of Doctor Sylvie Bonvalot. Over the past year, she has been involved in various multicenter studies with the Transatlantic Australasian Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group (TARPSWG). She is an active member of the Italian Sarcoma Group (ISG) and regularly participates in its meetings.
