Dr. Andrew Arifin is a radiation oncologist at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre at London Health Sciences Centre, and an assistant professor in the Department of Oncology at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University. He is committed to advancing the field of oncology through innovative clinical and translational research. His clinical expertise includes pediatric oncology, cutaneous oncology, and sarcomas. Dr. Arifin’s research emphasizes improving patient care and long-term health outcomes, including those for pediatric and young adult cancer survivors. He has an interest in artificial intelligence in medicine, particularly the application of natural language processing in clinical care.
Dr. Arifin completed residency at Western University/London Health Sciences Centre, where he served as chief radiation oncology resident from 2021–2022, and fellowship in pediatric, melanoma and sarcoma radiation at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was a resident and fellow representative on the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology board of directors, and is currently on the board of the Canadian Radiation Oncology Foundation.
